So the new Irn Bru 3rd division season is upon us and as all supporters head for bed tonight they will all be dreaming that come the end of April they will see their team lift the league trophy. What are Montrose's chances this year? How has pre-season gone? What about the new players? Its all here.

 

So the first Saturday of August sees Montrose kick off the season against Albion Rovers.  After seeing all but 2 of the pre-season games I can safely say if the squad apply themselves we should be headed for the play offs. 

 Jim Weir has built a team from the back with the addition of Mark Peat who looks solid between the sticks.  Ian Dobbins, Ross Gardiner, Kevin McGowne & Stephen Thompson all added as defenders.  Jay Stein, who may finally be a replacement for Webby & Sharp.  Scott Gates on a six month loan and word filtering through Garry Wood from Caley Thistle & not forgetting John Baird. We have added a good depth to the team, also with Stephen Black to come back next month.
