Scottish League Division 3 - Saturday 24 August 2002 - New Bayview, Methil. Result - East Fife 2 Montrose 0, Goals: Deuchar (47, 69) Montrose's pre-season optimism took a severe dent at we slumped to our second successive away defeat, this time at New Bayview.

East Fife opened the scoring on 47 minutes through Kenny Deuchar. Stevie Kerrigan hit the post, but Deuchar rounded off a good shift with a second on 69 minutes.

Montrose drop to seventh place due to wins for Elgin and Stirling Albion.
