DODGY PENALTY SINKS MONTROSE

So a dodgy penalty and another defeat. Mercer up front who looks so unfit he makes Jed Stirling look like a 100 metre sprinter. Front post crosses when everybody is at the back post. Has Robertson run his course? Montrose lined up with Reid in goals, Cumming on the right Stirling on the left. The preffered centre back pairing of Higgins & McLeod. Donnachie playing the holding midfield role, Henslee, Davidson & Gibson making up the rest of the midfield. Mercer & Rodgers leading the line.

Montrose started brightly and showed some good passing. Struggling in front of goal is par for the course at the moment and numerous chances were wasted.

Berwick's goal came after a tackle by Cumming. It looked nothing and many folk saw nothing apart from the ref and Haynes duly put the penalty away.

In the second half Montrose were denied a penalty themselves for a tackle that wouldn't of looked out of place in a WWE ring.

Toards the end Montrose had chances put again nothing was happening and they were carrying a passenger in mercer who was totally ineffective.

Rumours are abound that Kevin Webster is on his way back in January and we have sorely missed hsi pace down the wing. Neil Stephen is another target from Peterhead so it looks as if Tawse is on his way out. Although sightings of him recently have been more scarce than that of Nessie.
