MONTROSE BEATEN AGAIN

After one of the worst displays in a derby Montrose follow it up with another crap performance against Queens Park. With the game against Deveronvale the club had the chance to progress to the next road where another HFL team awaited then the prospect of glamour 3rd round tie. Montrose were two up within 25 minutes before Davidson saw red for a second bookable offence. Montrose coped with 10 men and then went down to 9 men when McLeod saw red for a professional foul. Even when they were down to 9 men Montrose had a chance to extend their lead but not taking that chance proved fatal. A Mike McKenzie inspired Deveronvale pulled one back with 4 minutes to go then equalised in the final minute and with time running out and in the 5ht minute of injury time Deveronvale scored the winner. Reid then saw red after the final whistle.

Robertson really has to look at what is happening here, granted we have not looked good since Higgins has been imjured but the long ball game isn't working and new tactics have to be employed as Napier and the likes can't cope with Stirling's long balls in to the box. As for Stirling he hasn't looked fit since he signed and leaves us exposed at left back week in week out.

On a brighter note the club announced some new signing last week. Keith Gibson returns on loan with a view to a deal in January. A former Smokie cult hero Jim Mercer arrives after playing last season at Stenny.

2 players have been signed as amatuers, the first being Danny Campbell who has been on the books of West Brom, last playing for Ashton United.

The final player a new defender has one of the best names in world football Lord Ndiwa. He is a Swedish Congolese and has played for Sweden at youth level. He was playing in Slovenia and has been on the books of Bolton and a couple of other English clubs.

So we have signed 3 midfielders and a defender. Perhaps they should be looking to splash the cash on a striker, perhaps Elgin will only do business for Johnstone in January. Michie & Rodgers have been in a bigger slump than Michael Jackson's career. Although they have nobody pushing for a place seeing as out other 2 stikers are turning it on for Roselea.
