Stenhousemuir came to town to kick, bully and play the long ball and rode out of town with all three points. Some of the McKendrick's decisions left a lot to be desired and now Montrose have to pick themselves up and get back to winning ways. After the loss the previous week to Dumbarton, Montrose looked to keep their undeafted home record in tact against a physical Stenny team.

The first half was a scrappy affair and some wrong choices by Rodgers & Michie saw good chances squandered. With Rodgers clean through on goal the Stenny defender sythed him to the ground and the ref waved played on. Diack then got booked shortly after for a rash tackle on Rodgers.

The Akabussi loyal were in full voice but they can't be that happywatching a team who came so close to promotion last season play the long ball constantly.

Reid had one good save in the first half denyin St Mirren wonder kid Baird with a near post save.

In to the Secind half and the ref didn't redeem himself. After a good save from reid again from Baird young Darren Kelly gave away a free kick about 25 yrds out. McBride stepped up and curled on in which Reid failed to get under control and Stenny were one up.

From there the Ref lost the plot, firstly not awarding a pass back after Michie, who seems to be wearing baffies to play in just now, failed to get a touch. Then with minutes to go Kerrigan had a header cleared by the away defence for a corner. The assistant ref gave the corner but McKendrick who was 30yrds away decided to give a bye kick and not take his assistant's view.

After Stenny got the goal all they did was time waste at every given oppertunity. No wonder East Stirling humped this season. With those sort of perfomances Stenny will not be there or there abouts this season.

Man of the match had to be either Chris McLeod who is turning into a great defender and will get better once Higgins is back beside him or Donnachie who gave it his all in midfield but distribution has to improve.
