Afan Lido clinched all 3 points in the Bank Holiday Monday Steel-Town derby. The game was given added importance in being a proverbial 6-pointer, with both clubs stuck in the bottom 6 'mini-league'. Tathan Boy reports from Victoria Road...

It was a typical local derby in front of a strong 800+ crowd today at Victoria Road. Port Talbot lost their centre half after being sent off half way through the first half. The visitors could not take advantage of their extra man, and the first half finished goalless.

The second half saw a little improvement from the visitors, and they took the lead with a spectacular strike from Liam McCreesh, keeping the ball up four times before lobbing the ball over the PTT goalie.

However, the hosts equalised soon after from a corner, and the game seem destined for a draw, until the 87th minute, Sascha Walters scoring another spectacular goal. Wide on the left the winger vollied the ball (almost a centre cum shot) over the prostate home keeper for another wonder goal to win a vital 3 points for his team.
