Section devoted to the BBC-sponsored FAW Premier Cup, currently held by North Walian outfit Wrexham. The winners of the competition are awarded with a healthy prize cheque of £100,000.

The F.A.W Premier Cup was brought into existence for the 1997/1998 season, and has been under the sponsorship of the BBC since then. The manufactured tournament is competed for by the seven highest placed Welsh Premier sides, the Welsh Cup winners, the three 'exiled' Football League clubs and the highest placed 'exiled' non-league side. The main carrot for the club is the £100,000 winners cheque, and the BBC also offer a whole host of different prize money amounts to clubs who reach various stages.

The spiritual home of the FAW Premier Cup is Wrexham's Racecourse ground, with the Robins having lifted the trophy five times in its seven year history. The North Walians have show the tournament the respect it has deserved, and thus have enjoyed over £500,000 in prize money as a reward. However, their 2004 triumph could be their last, with the future of the competition in jeopardy.
