The sunshine followed Rhyl all the way to Y Traeth, as they beat Porthmadog 2-0 which was enough to claim the Lilywhites their first ever Welsh Premier title, despite title rivals TNS thrashing Welshpool 5-0. TNS Hunt Mutton

After a dramatic last day of the season, Rhyl have claimed their first ever Welsh Premier title. The Lilywhites secured the honour following a tense 2-0 victory at sun-kissed Porthmadog, despite title rivals TNS thrashing Welshpool Town 5-0.

Rhyl will surely look back on their televised Easter Sunday 1-0 victory over TNS as the decisive day in their title challenge, and the semi-professional club should be congratulated on their fine achievement in pipping their full-time rivals to the title

So congratulations to everyone at Rhyl, I'm sure everybody will agree the Lilywhites are worthy winners and I'm sure they will do Wales proud in the Champions League next season. Of course the Belle Vue still have so much left to play for, with the Welsh League Cup, Welsh Cup and Premier Cup finals all to play within a week!
