Opinions on whether Welsh Premier clubs should be allowed to switch to the English pyramid is still divided. Today's Non-League Paper reports that several Welsh Premier clubs are eyeing a move back over the border to the English system, leading the paper to claim "The future of the Welsh Premier is in doubt".

Our own poll on this site shows a slight favouring from Welsh Premier supporters to allow our clubs to switch pyramids if they so wish, with 56% of 239 voters voting 'yes' on permitting the move.

Bangor City are said to have applied to join both the North West Counties and Unibond League in England  as they aim to boost dwindling crowds at Farrar Road. 

However, just a few miles east down the A55, Welsh Premier rivals Rhyl are starting to see an upturn in fortunes both on and off the Welsh Premier pitch. Crowds have reached on all time high in the national league, and talk of them moving back to England appears to have died down.

It seems unlikely that either the Welsh or English FA would allow a switch in either case. Welsh Premier John Deakin said "If they wanted to go it would be a matter for them, but I'm not sure the English FA would accept them. It's very often the case that the grass is not greener on the other side", whilst Unibond Chairman Peter Maude,  added "We'd certainly look at it, but whether they would be allowed to join an English league I would regard as doubtful"
