Bangor City are hopeful of signing Newtown striker Paul Smith next week. The Citizens have served a seven day notice of approach to the Robins for their leading scorer. The 25 year old, Rhuddlan born marksman, has netted 10 times in 16 outings so far this season for The Robins. He made an impressive performance in Newown's 4-2 League Cup defeat at Farrar Road on Tuesday, and his brace attracted the attenton of Citizens' manager Peter Davenport.
Newtown manager Roger Preece admitted he Daily Post 'has a battle to keep him' at Latham Park. He has formed a lethal partnership with ex-Rhyl and Caernarfon striker Danny Barton since joining the club.
