Debt-ridden Welsh Premier champions Barry Town have launched a poster appeal to help ensure their survival. The Dragons have just a few weeks to raise £120,000 that they owe to creditors. The good news is that the Barry Town Supporters Association has already raised around three quarters of that amount, and club chairman Dr Liz Davies is confident that the new poster appeal will help the Dragons raise the final quarter needed to help the club start again. "The previous owners of the club left us in serious financial difficulties and debts which we cannot hope to repay", Davies told BBC Sport. "In order to keep the club alive, we must come to an agreement with our creditors and hope that they accept our offer. If they do, then we would start with a clean slate and ensure that we never find ourselves in this position again."

Barry Town are also appealing to local businesses, investors and even supporters to loan money to the club, with the promise of being paid back within 10 years with a healthy rate of interest. It has also been revealed that Barry Town have signed former QPR and Cardiff City midfielder Leon Jeanne. The 22 year-old, who had spells with Barry and Port Talbot in the Welsh Premier last season, was recently cleared of supplying cocaine and is currently undergoing rehabiliation following his drug addiction.
