Reprieved Welshpool have clinched the signing of former Newtown defender Peter Wilding.

The veteran centre back moves to Maesydre after being released by relegated Third Division club Shrewsbury Town, and turning down offers from several other clubs.

'Pool are also hoping to tempt former Wolves goalkeeper Scott Brown to Mid-Wales. The 19 year-old would take over the number one jersey from Steve Goodwin, who made a shock switch to rivals Newtown last month.
