Carmarthen Town have clinched the signing of veteran Welsh keeper Tony Pennock. The former Wales semi-pro star believed he had been offered a one year contract with Swansea City, but the 3rd division club withdrew their offer of a one year offer.

Pennock (left) had been training with the Vetch Field club throughout the summer after being released by Conference club Farnborough Town. Pennock claims to have shaken hands on a one year contract in South Wales, only to then be told it was just for 3 months,

Pennock fumed "I cannot believe the amateurish way in which this has been done, and a three-month contract for someone with a mortgage and a family is simply no good." However Swans director Huw Jenkins claimed "I am not aware Tony Pennock had been promised a one-year contract. As far as I know, nobody at Swansea had promised him that sort of deal. It was always my plan to offer Tony a short-term deal, either a monthly or three-month contract."
