Barry Town have today announced a triple signing. Mark Ovendale, Paul Byrne and David Ocquaye are all on their way to Jenner Park, in preperation for the Dragons' Champions League campaign.

Goalkeeper Mark Ovendale (left) will return to Jenner Park after being released by Nationwide League Division Two crisis club Luton Town. Ovendale won the League of Wales championship with Barry in 1995, and joined Bournemouth for £30k and a sell-on-fee in April 1998. After a successful few years at Dean Court he attracted a big money move to Luton in 2000, moving to Kenilworth Road for a £425k fee. The Dragons will be delighted to capture a reliable goalkeeper, after some erratic displays from Nigerian international stopper Abi Baruwa.

Signing number two is Port Vale's left winger Paul Byrne (right). Described as a 'talented left footer', who 'after a handful of substitute appearances, made his first full appearance of the season as left wing back against Stockport County and quietly impressed. He went on to make several more appearances, showing some promise on the left flank. It was therefore a big surprise when the youngster was released in the summer of 2003.' The South African born winger has been promptly snapped up by the Welsh Premier Champions. 

The Dragons have also snapped up Kingstonian's young striker David Ocquaye (left). The 21 year old former Hampton and Richmond Borough starlet spent time at Charlton Athletic's academy, and has been described as a 'pacey and powerful targetman'.

Meanwhile, the Dragons had more good news when impressive Nigerian striker Adebayo Akinfenwa and midfield maestro Tom Ramasut both agreed one year contract extensions. Today's news will bring relief to both Dragon fans and management alike, after last week's European strike threat. Barry players were reportedly unhappy about unpaid wages and threatened to boycott the clubs forthcoming Champions League games. However, controversial chairman John Fashanu has assured his players that all wages will be paid by the end of the month.
