A first half goal by Kevin Bartley, his fifteenth league goal of the season, set the Reds on their way to a first home victory of 2003. Carmarthen were value for money and if I wasn't a Lido fan I'd have thought they might have deserved something from the game. As it stands, I'm really glad they didn't!

A well-taken low free kick across the face of goal from O'Leary set Bartley up for a simple tap-in from five yards to give Lido the lead. Carmarthen hit the bar soon after, and a brilliant save from Brian Thomas denied them the chance of an equaliser. Lido rounded off an excellent victory by evading an offside trap evident to all but Sion Meredith who played Sacha Walters onside, allowing Walters to cruise on through to goal and slot comfortably past keeper Gareth Williams.

Quite an entertaining game, spoiled at times by the ferocious sea wind and bitter cold, but Lido will be happy for three points before they host Oswestry next Saturday at the Runtech Stadium.
