WELSH PREMIERSHIP RESULTS / CANLYNIADAU UWCH CYNGHRAIR CYMRU
Friday 24th January / Dydd Gwener 24ed Ionawr
Aberystwyth 1 - 3 Caersws
Abbott 85 Jehu 35, 52 A.Davies 56
Following an mediocre performance last Saturday, a resurgent Caersws produced a superb performance to earn three very valuable points away at fifth placed Aberystwyth Town. Aber opened strongly, and dominated the first quarter of an hour but it was the 'Bluebirds' who drew first blood, thanks to a Sean Jehu finish following a cross from the right by Kevin Scott.
The villagers added two more goals
within 5 minutes at the start of the 2nd half. Jehu scored his second thundering
home from 15 yards, soon followed by the goal of the game by Andy Davies, when
after picking up the ball in midfield, and running at the home defence he hit a
magnificent shot from 25 yards into the roof of the
net.
The 'Greens' sprung into action, and despite dominating the last 20 minutes they could only force one , rather fortuitous goal courtesy of a Paul Abbott free kick, which slipped through Mulliners hands in the Caersws goal.
Afan Lido 1 - 2 Cwmbran
Lido's disappointing home form continued, as Cwmbran shocked them at the Runtech Stadium
