Speculation before the January deadline is already rife that Spurs are to make a shock bid for Liverpool's Emile Heskey. Heskey was all set to join Spurs from Leicster City several years ago until Liverpool made a last minute bid to secure the big hitman's signature.
Liverpool boast one of the biggest pools of strikers in the Premiership and thus far this season Heskey has failed to achieve regularly a place in his favoured position up front.
Glenn Hoddle is already reaping the benefits of the 7million he spent on Robbie Keane and is said to be looking to delve into the market once again for another big name striker with many saying this is Sheringham's last season on the playing staff.
Spurs have made a lively start to the Premiership, confounding many of thier critics and several key purchases in January could see them push for a surprise Champions League spot.
Heskey would most probably be available in the 10million mark.
