The Durham paceman took both his side's wickets as the hosts closed on 24 for two after an opening day restricted to only 15 overs.

Harmison is one of only two seam bowlers in the side as England elected to go with two spinners on the slow, low pitch in Dhaka but he said he was relishing the additional responsibility.

"I have looked to try to hit decent areas with the new ball and later on tried to bowl a bit quicker but everything has knitted in nicely and I was happy with the way I bowled," he told Sky Sports.

"The pitch has got a little bit of bounce in it - it is spitting at them and sort of sticking in the wicket - and my height exploits it.

"I am going to enjoy the extra workload. You want as much responsibility as you can if you want to be a better cricketer and it feels like I am doing that."
