In a game between 2 teams in the bottom 4 this result really didn't help and with Mansfield winning its back down to 22nd with the Robins at QPR on tuesday. However for today Bobby Gould had the luxury of naming an unchanged team After the joys of Mansfield and Swindon this game was a huge letdown. The 1st half was a boring affair with the only real moments being Grant not taking a shot when he had so much time and a header from Sampson from a Northampton corner being cleared off the line by Milton. Most of my time was spent counting how many times Grant gave the ball away or was shoved off it.A quick note must go to the plonker of a ref who thought someone wearing a replica shirt inside a football ground was an offence
H/T 0-0
The 2nd half started in the worst possible way with Dave Bird twisting his knee and being carried off on a stretcher with Neil Howarth being brought on.John Finnigan was brought on for Milton on the hour.
About 30 seconds later Victory flicked on McCann's corner and there was Yates to nod in from close range.Cheltenham then had one of the best bits of luck in ages when a Sampson header beat Higgs and was apparently handballed by Finnigan.
However there was no doubt about Harsley's shot as he sidestepped Finnigan and drilled in a shot from the edge of the area.Northampton had the last real chance of the game when Frain's free kick brushed the post
F/T 1-1
The last word must go to Paul Baker who thought that swearing was losing the club 1500 supporters
No Paul try the fact that we have to watch passionless displays like this one and that we are near the bottom
