Huddersfield are hoping that their first game in the 2nd dvision this season against Breantford will go well...

Its been 17 months since Town striker Martin Smith last played in the league and he and the whole team hope that Wadsworth's reign will start with a thrashing of Brentford, however, Wadsworth says Brentford are not to be underestimated.

At the 3:00 kick-off four of Town's new boys are due to make their debuts, these are: Scott Bevan, Eddie Youds, Kevin Sharp and Scott McDonald.  All these new players and Smith will surely get a rousing reception from the fans, especially Bevan, after his stunning performance against Athletico Bilbao.

Youngsters Jon Worthington and Paul Scott will make their first senior squad appearance on the bench as will exciting young striker Jon Stead.  Defender Nathan Clarke is also expected to feature on the bench as defensive backup.

Town are hoping for a massive attendance tomorrow and have a Quid-A-Kid scheme (U16's) in the hope of attracting more fans to see our victory, (hopefully.)

In an interview with icHuddersfield Wadsworth said:

"If you aim to play excellently then you are more likely to win than if you just aim to win."

"I hope the way we play is not only going to please people but also provide us with the wins we need for a good season.

"The division is strong as a whole and it would be stupid to underestimate Brentford just because they have lost a few players since the end of last season.

"So have we, leading to a squad with maybe eight senior players and the rest being young and, to a large extent, inexperienced.

"The benefit of that is that we've got a bunch of players who are enthusiastic, eager and who go into the season with no fear.

"They are raring to go, too, and as Kenny Irons said in training, we are firing real bullets from tomorow."
