Mick Wadsworth shrugged off the Lancaster defeat complaining about the state of the pitch...

Confident manager Mick said the pre-season defeat against Lancaster was not too important and that he would stick to his principles.

Town's boss played a full-strength side against Lancaster for the first time in his reign since taking over a fortnight ago.  He complained about the terrible state of the Giant Axe pitch saying it was little better than a cow patch!  That's what you get against UniBond sides Mick, you've got a lot to learn. 

He also said to icHuddersfield that if it was an FA cup tie he would have used different tactics and made full use of our advantages like our superior height and skill to play long balls.

He is not taking much notice of this inferior pre-season result insisting the real game to worry about is the home match against Brentford on 10th August.
