Wadsworth has appointed Dave Wilkes as his new first-team coach at the MacAlpine. Mick Wadsworth has appointed Dave Wilkes as the new first-team coach. The pair worked together at Carlisle so should work closely together and Wilkes should have a good understanding of Wadsworth's aims.

Wilkes also has had a brief spell as manager at Carlisle and was supposedly lined up to take charge of the currently managerless team.

"I'm very pleased to have Dave on board," Wadsworth told the club's official website.

"He's an intelligent coach and has a terrific record with the youngsters.

"He's also a Yorkshireman, so there is a sense of familiarity with this area."

Wadsworth has also brought in former Barnsley and England under-21 goalkeeper David Watson as his goalkeeping coach.
