Kimi Raikkonen completed his final test at Valencia on the 1st March, showing great pace in the MP4-21. The Finn set a lap of 1m09.416 seconds which was over half a second faster than the previous V8 lap record at Valencia set by Kimi himself.

McLaren's tester Pedro de la Rosa was second in the orange hybrid MP4-20 car, albeit fitted with a restricted V10 engine. On the team's final test before the season opener at Bahrain on March 12th, the Spaniard completed a fair amount of laps, and was almost half a second faster than Honda's Anthony Davidson.

The Englishman was the busiest man on track, completing over 140 laps. He was in turn almost seven tenths faster than fellow Brit David Coulthard in his RB2, which is probably better known as much of the winter it has had cooling problems.

Ralf Schumacher had an engine problem but set the fifth fastest time - over a second ahead of Jarno Trulli and Williams' Alex Wurz.
