Montoya to Renault?

As Fernando Alonso heads to McLaren for 2007, it is speculated that Juan Pablo Montoya may head out of McLaren and head to the seat Alonso left vacant, Spanish press claims.

It is thought telecommunications giant 'Telefonica', a Renault sponsor, would like to see Montoya replace Alonso after losing him to McLaren for 2007 - who at that time will have rival Vodafone as title sponsor.

Juan Pablo would help Telefonica build its profile in Spanish and South American markets.

Montoya is currently considering all options, saying he won't wait for the team if it doesn't show it wants him to stay.
