With the recent troubles of Arrows, one cannot help but wonder what is really happening in Formula 1. Prost has already gone by the wayside...who is next? When Prost wasn't saved at years start, I wondered(as we all did) why. Many teams this season including Jordan, BAR and a few others have been laying people off left and right. Sponsors have dissappeared or changed and things just simply seem bleak on the financial end for everyone. Now, with the talk of the current teams running three cars to make up the field, I can't help but think that Formula 1 is in big trouble. We all know that the FIA want the money, never mind the competition, but this is rediculous. Why wasn't Phoenix allowed to race? Because the FIA didn't get another $45 million. Why is Jordan and BAR dropping people hand over fist? Restructuring they say. Bailing water from a sinking ship is the more likely truth. With one team gone, and Arrows and Minardi barely making each venue and not being able to test at all, we will be lining up only 18 cars next year. And if that is the truth, then count on TV revenues going down,and sponsor investment dissappearing; which puts the lower teams that remain out of business soon therafter.
