Budget Cap, Refuelling Ban, and a Full Grid 2010

New rules that will surely cause some to lose it. The FIA step into an even more radical cost saving idea, one of them had been seen in the 90's.

In a attempt to reduce costs the FIA have limited teams to a 40 million GBP budget. The previous figured had been of 30 million. There are plenty of exemptions in this new rule change. Drivers salaries, engine, marketing, and the most ironic thing are fines imposed by the FIA.

The new budget cap is optional, teams who decide to take it will be allowed only the 40 million in development, but with it comes unlimited testing and wind tunnel usage, and engines without a rev limiter, and the new flex wings. It will be interesting to see how teams will afford wind tunnels and testing on 40 million, but as proven in the past anything is possible in the world of F1.

With all the new rule changes in place we could see a full grid once again with some 26 cars taking part in a regular Grand Prix, something we haven't seen since 1996 as the grid became ever smaller.

Also being considered are bans on refuelling, and warming devices. These measures to be taken in 2010 will aid teams in cost saving.

Formula One is becoming the fastest cheap sport in the world...

Seems good so far... will be able to see different cars deploying different strategies and technology..... should mix up the field a lot better than this season...

No doubt flip we may see a lot of appeals and hearings on the legality of the designs..

Fantastic news this is simply because it will stop certain teams trying to buy the championship by useing the power of unlimited spending that other teams dont have.If they don't loke it then let them leave F1 will survive whatever!!!!
