The Vodafone McLaren Mercedes formula one team have completed the first day of testing at the Circuit de Barcelona in eastern Spain. McLarens test and reserve driver, Pedro de la Rosa, completed McLaren’s development program for today. Pedro focused on 2009 tyre testing, while running with 2009 spec of aerodynamics, causing him to be 3.2 seconds behind Ferrari’s Felipe Massa.
Out of the eleven Formula 1 teams nine tested today. Toro Rosso are not planning on testing until tomorrow and Super Aguri is sitting out this weeks test while its deal with new buyer the Magma Group is finalised.
