Hamilton Takes Commanding Win In Hungary

Current championship leader Lewis Hamilton has won the 2007 Hungarian grand prix, ahead of Ferrari driver Kimi Raikkonen and BMW driver Nick Heidfeld. Hamilton lead the race from start to finish, holding back Kimi Raikkonen for the whole 70 lap distance. Meanwhile Fernando Alonso, struggled with the handling of his car, and spent most of the race stuck behind Ralf Schumacher’s Toyota.

Hamilton made a great start; the twenty two year old Brit defended his pole position, and converted that into first place by the first corner. Meanwhile, at the start, Fernando Alonso seemed to be uncomfortable going into the first corner, and decided not to challenge anyone into the first corner.

Hamilton began to surge ahead of Raikkonen, within a handful of laps, the gap between the two of them reached over five seconds, Kimi then began to regain time, the Finish driver began to eat into Lewis’s lead.

As the first pit stops approached it was Fernando Alonso who was the first person, out of the ‘big four’ to pit, as he was held up behind Ralf Schumacher. On lap 19 Lewis Hamilton and Kimi Raikkonen.

Lewis suffered from a steering problem, which caused his car to steer slightly to the right, despite this Lewis managed to hold back Kimi. Lewis’s driving suggested that he had more pace left in his car if he needed it.

After his second stop Fernando got ahead of Ralf, the Spaniard then began to close in on third placed Nick Heidfeld, Fernando could only managed to get within 1.7 seconds of Nick. Maybe the Spaniard has realized that he ruined his race.
