A surprise move as Toyota cleans house for 2003.

Olivier Panis, who has been with BAR this year, has signed a two year deal with Toyota. It was announced that Mika Salo had agreed to terminate his contract with the team early. This move comes as a bit of a surprise to most, including this man! It was suspected that McNish would lose his seat to someone, but Toyota has totally cleaned house. Toyota not only has hired Panis for a two year deal to replace Mika Salo, but they have also announced that they will not renue McNish's contract. It is not known at this time who will replace McNish, but with the number of drivers beginning to sign deals, something should be known soon. Frentzen was rumoured to be a Toyota candidate, but since his signing with Sauber it remains a mystery as to who will replace McNish.
