McLaren Power Can Stand The Heat.

Mercedes motorsport director Norbert Haug is remaining cool, and confident over the reliability of his Mercedes engines, that in just under a weeks time will be experiencing the hardest challenge of all, the Malaysian Grand Prix.
In recent past, the Mercedes engines have let go in spectacular style, Bahrain 2004 anyone? But Norbert is highly confident that his, Mercedes engines will last for the whole race weekend, where temperatures regularly exceed 40°C.
At the Sepang Circuit we will experience completely different conditions than in Melbourne. Ambient temperatures of above 30 degrees and a high humidity, the engines will be challenged a lot more than usual. For the technicians, cooling of the engines is crucial. In these difficult conditions, almost 70 percent of a lap will be driven under full throttle, however we have a good basis."
