Two seeds saw their participation at the Acura Classic end sooner than anticipated. Russia’s Anna Chakvetadze defeated the 12th-seeded Tatiana Golovin of France in straight set, 4 and 4. Bulgarian Sesil Karatantcheva ousted the 13th-seed Shinobu Asagoe of Japan in three sets 6-1, 0-6 and 7-5. Davenport pulls out, seeds ousted.
