Amélie Mauresmo, Anastasia Myskina, Venus Williams and Alicia Molik are the four top seeds in Antwerp. They are all in the top 10 of the WTA ranking. And with Nadia Petrova, Karolina Sprem and Silvia Farina-Elia 7 players of the world's finest 20 will be present. On top of that, the tournament will see the presence of Kim Clijsters as well. After a long absence, Kim will celebrate her comeback in front of her own Belgian audience. Clijsters will play her first match on Tuesday 15 February at 7.30pm. Because her position on the WTA ranking tables slipped drastically, she is obliged to play the first round. For this session only 4000 tickets are available.

Elena Dementieva cancelled at the last minute. The last wild card will go to Nathalie Dechy or Patty Schnyder. Up to now, Els Callens and Jelena Dokic received a wild card for the tournament.

A total of 87.000 tickets have already been sold. For each session, also for the final, tickets are still available. On Sunday 13 February, a meeting with history is scheduled. Martina Hingis, who dominated women's tennis for years, will play against Arantxa Sanchez-Vicario.

The draw of the Belgian pre-qualifying also has happened. Butkiewicz will play against Bastianon. Van Hyfte will meet Bailly. Feys will play Claes and Maes will match De Vries.
