Injured Kim Clijsters will wait till Friday with her decision about playing for the Belgian Fed Cup team. The No. 2 ranked is having problems with her left wrist. She did injure her wrist last March and promised herself not to compete until she was 100% matchfit. “My wrist is still stiff, I want to protect it as much as possible until Friday,” Kim Clijsters told her fans through her website.

The Fed Cup matchup against Croatia, scheduled in Clijsters’ hometown Bree, is also played without the worlds No. 1 Justine Henin-Hardenne. Missing Clijsters on the team could jeopardize Belgium’s chance to move into the next round.

"It is not only about this weekend but I also don't want to endanger the tournaments that come after it," said Clijsters.

Clijsters earlier complained about playing for the Fed Cup team. She feels the schedule does not fit into the WTA Tour busy schedule, specially for players that reach quarters, semis and finals most of the time.

The 20-year-old played a charity match up against her fiancée earlier this week, with a wrist protection.
