Serena Williams was in devastating form when facing Austrian Barabara Schett to advance through to the 4th round, Henin-Hardenne, Amelie Mauresmo, Chanda Rubin, Magui Serna, Ai Sugiyama, Petra Mandula and Patty Schnyder posting convincing wins
Schett looked like she could stay with Serena holding break points in the first game then going ahead 30-0 in her own service game in the second game. But it was all over before it started has Williams powered through the first set in just 23 minutes 6-0. Then the second she was even more impressive with her groundstrokes and her serve winning the second set in just 15 mintues.
The defending champion will take on Ai Sugiyama who knocked out Meghann Shaughnessy whose form was nowhere to be seen going out 6-1, 6-4.
Justine Henin-Hardenne had very little problems against Madagascar's Dally Randrientfy winning 6-1, 6-1.
Patty Schnyder comfortably beat Greece's Eleni Daniilidou 6-3, 6-4 to set up a 4th round match with Justine Henin-Hardenne.
Chanda Rubin and Magui Serna were made to go to three set battles against Laura Granville and Ashley Harkleroad. Both Rubin and Serna lost the first set 6-3 but then raised their games to advance.
Serna probably had an easier occassion playing a very tired Ashley Harkleroad.
Petra Mandula who is having a very good Roland Garros carried her form through to the 4th round beating Flavia Pennetta of Italy 6-2, 6-4.
