Anna Kournikova has pulled out of the German Open, Berlin after not recovering from her thigh injury she sustained against Conchita Martinez also pulled out of last weeks ITF Tier 3 tournament due to the same injury Kournikova reached the semi-finals of this tournament in 1998 was handed a wild card after her ranking would not allow her main draw entry without it. The Russian may struggle to be fit for the French Open which begins in 4 weeks but is entered for the Italian Open which starts the week after the German Open.

She is still looking for her first ever tournament win in 7 years of professional tennis
