World Number 1 Serena Williams returns to action this week after overcoming her tendonitis in her knee but faces a difficult draw in Miami Serena Williams faces a tough draw at the NasDaq 100 Open in Miami, Florida as she will have to overcome Kim Clijsters, Lindsay Davenport, Daniela Hantuchova and Monica Seles all in her half of the draw

Williams who is defending champion will have to overcome players like her sister Venus, Justine Henin-Hardenne, Jennifer Capriati and Amelie Mauresmo in the final to defend her title successfully.

Clijsters will be Serena's biggest threat and aren't seeded to meet until the semi-finals with Kim having to overcome the young Slovakian Daniela Hantuchova in the quarter-finanls.

Davenport who is nearly back to her fantastic form is seeded to clash with former world number one Monica Seles in the quarter-finals with Serena looking to play rising Russian Elena Bovina.

The bottom half of the draw see's Henin-Hardenne to play Mauresmo who pulled out of Indian Wells tournament due to a viral infection will be looking to get back into action in the quarter-finals. And Venus Williams to play Jennifer Capriati in the quarter-finals aswell.

But tennis doesn't go according to plan most of the time but you can almost gurantee Serena getting to atleast the semi-finals where everybody will be planing on upseting her especially Kim Clijsters who is in fantastic form.

Possibly Jelena Dokic could once again lose early to Svetlana Kuznetsova who plays Virginia Ruano-Pascual in first round. The first round highlight will probably be the two Russian players, Anna Kournikova facing Marat Safin's sister Dinara Safina in the first round which could break Kournikova's tennis career.

There's big points available at this tournament alongside the bonus points for beating players higher ranked up than you, the winner will win 325 points and $393,000 prize money. Clijsters who is quickly gaining ground on reaching the world number 2 slot for the first time could reach there if everything goes to plan with both Williams sisters facing difficult draws.
