Mauresmo pulls out, Davenport and Capriati clash

Amelie Mauresmo was forced to pull out of her quarter-final match against Lindsay Davenport due to a throat infection and will now go onto play Jennifer Capriati in the all American semi-final Mauresmo who has been out for most of the year injured was in fantastic form during the tournament until her sinus problems affected her chances of winning the title.

Jennifer Capriati advanced to a semi-final clash with American rival Lindsay Davenport after she disposed Russian youngster Vera Zvonareva 7-5, 6-2. Capriati has had poor results at this tournament in the past but has now finally gotten over them reaching the semi's for the first time in her career.

"I think I've got better and more aggressive" said the American. "Hopefully this is the point where it starts to count".

"I got into a good rhytm because she didn't really change it up at all. She was very predictables, but I think she has potential"
