Doncaster Knights

Jordan Olowofela

• The star of the show. His last-gasp try in the dying seconds secured the victory for Doncaster, delivering the dramatic finish that will define this fixture.

• Beyond that moment, Olowofela’s threat out wide forced Worcester to stretch their defence; his pace and finishing instincts were pivotal in creating the opening for that match-winner.

• While metre counts are unavailable, you’d expect him to have been among the team’s leaders for line breaks and carries in open space, especially in the closing phases.

Russell Bennett

• His boot was vital to Doncaster’s scoreboard accumulation. He kicked multiple penalties (five in the first half) to keep Doncaster in command and build that 3 score buffer.

• Bennett also converted tries, maintaining composure under pressure to ensure Doncaster maximised their chances — an example of strong game management.

• He also contributed with box-kicks and territorial control.

Veainu / Rokoduguni / Edwards (backs interplay)

• From those contributions, he led Worcester in tries on the day and had high counts in metres gained, especially in attacking phases.

Tim Anstee

• He grabbed the first try for Worcester (an intercept), injecting momentum into their comeback.

• His ability to read the play and capitalise on turnover opportunities was critical in shifting momentum back into Worcester’s favour.

Billy Twelvetrees

• In the final minute, Twelvetrees stormed through to score what looked to be the match-winning try (which Worcester led with after the conversion), briefly putting them 31–29 ahead.

  His role in that decisive play underscores his continued importance as a game-changer and his ability to deliver in clutch moments.

General Worcester contributions & issues

• Worcester’s backs and forwards showed resilience in fighting through adversity. They clawed back a large first-half deficit to take the lead in the final quarter.

• However, discipline and defensive lapses in depth or at the breakdown likely cost them: conceding that final try at the death suggests a failure to close phases defensively.

• Their offensive ambitions paid dividends in the second half, but earlier pressure wasn’t as sustained, and they were vulnerable when Doncaster shifted the ball wide or ran smart lines.
