Darlington have missed out on the chance to sign former Black Cats midfielder Sam Aiston, after player and manager failed to reach a deal over a contract. Sam Aiston has said no to Qaukers manager David Hodgson, after the winger failed tor each an agreement with David Hodgson.

This story follows that of Colin Larkin snubbing the Qaukers a few weeks ago for the chance to play in League 1.

The main reason the deal never went through was due to the winger refusing to play on a 1 year contract, which Hodgy is only prepared to give to most players at the moment, however says he would consider giving a longer deal to a proven goalscorer.
