Cardiff City kick off their pre-season campaign tomorrow to face Merthyr Tydfil. Here's a brief look at tomorrow's fixture with The Martyrs.

Tomorrow, Cardiff City kick-off their pre-season with a trip to Penydarren Park to face, Merthyr Tydfil.

Merthyr had a very disappointing season last year, getting relegated from the Dr.Martins Premier League.

Hopefully, Chris Barker and Gareth Whalley will make their first appearance for the Bluebirds tomorrow, and this game will be a good chance for City fans to get their first look at the new signings.

Lennie Lawrence is likely to play separate teams in each half, so some of the player's who didn't feature in Lawrence's plans for last season, have a chance to show their worth tomorrow.

Where you'll be Going:

Tomorrow, Cardiff fans will be travelling to Penydarren Park. I have only previously visited this ground once, and found it a very friendly place to be, with very welcoming fans. Penydarren holds 10,000, with 1,500 seats. Penydarren is famously staged European Football during the 80's. One to Watch:

Well, it's quite difficult to do a one to watch for a friendly game, as you can never be sure of who will be playing. But one of Merthyr's top players's is Jamie Edwards. Edwards is a very quick winger, with a good lot of skill and bags of pace, he is likely to be one of Merthyr's key players, as they battle for promotion next season.

Merthyr haven't had a lot of success in recent years, and since they came so close to gaining promotion into the Conference back in '98, it's all gone downhill for the Martyrs. Many Merthyr fans believe if they do not get back into the Dr.Martins Premier League soon, the club may decide to join the Welsh Pyramid.

Tomorrow's game is a 3pm kick-off, and is pay on the gate. I doubt there will be a split between the two sets of fans.
