The club has announced the pre-season schedule for the Bluebirds as they prepare for the tough league campaign ahead. The fixtures include a tour to Scandinavia, where City will play two games in Denmark and one in Sweden. Four home friendlies have also been confirmed.

The Bluebirds will be in Scandinavia for a week, where they will play two games in Denmark and one in Sweden. City kick off their Scandinavian tour in Copenhagen, where they play both their fixtures against Danish opposition. The first is against Koge BK on July 19th. who are currently facing relegation from the Danish Superligaen. Two days later, City face BK Frem, who are currently top of Denmark's second flight. The Bluebirds then make the short journey to Sweden to complete their tour as they take on IFK Malmo on July 23rd. Malmo play their football in the Swedish Second Division. Just three days later, on July 26th, the team will be facing Cambridge United, at the Abbey Stadium in their first domestic friendly. The game is scheduled for a 3 O'clock kick-off. The Bluebirds have another away trip on the Tuesday when they will face Bobby Gould's newly-relegated Cheltenham Town at Whaddon Road, in a 7.45pm kick-off. City then return to Ninian Park to play their only home friendly, which is against Charlton Athletic. The game scheduled for 1st August, is to be used as Scott Young's testimonial match to celebrate his 10 years as a Bluebird. The game is also a 7.45pm kick-off. The last game of the pre-season has been announced as an away trip to Forest Green Rovers on Tuesday 5th August, which is another 7.45pm kick-off. It is thought that at least one more first team friendly will be arranged, and reserve and youth team pre-season fixtures will be announced shortly. So the complete pre-season schedule so far is:
