Gavin Gordon and Peter Thorne found the net either side of half time, both laid on by Graham Kavanagh, to help City cruise past a dreadful Port Vale side. The Bluebirds smallest league away following this season, in a crowd of 3,861 went home happy! City played 4-3-3, and from the start looked determined to out their promotion charge back on track. This was achieved and it was nice to see two of the other forwards get the goals. In fact little Earnie was taken off towards the end, but no matter, Port Vale would not have scored if they had been playing until midnight!
