In their last friendly before the European Qualifers begin, Wales got an impressive 1-1 draw away in Croatia. Three Cardiff City players were named in the squad, and all earnt their second cap for their country.
Last night, Wales played their last friendly before the European Qualification Groups begin.
Robert Earnshaw, Danny Gabbidon and Rhys Weston had all been named in Mark Hughes' squad, to make the trip to Croatia, and all 3 got their second cap for their country last night.
Despite taking the lead early on through a fantastic Simon Davies goal, Wales couldn't hold on and with 10 minutes to go, Robert Earnshaw played the ball back to Wales 'keeper, Paul Jones who made a mess of the clearance and gifted Croatia the equaliser.
Gabbidon was one of Wales' best players, and will now be in strong contention for a regular place in the Welsh starting line-up.
Well done to Earnie, Gabbidon and Weston!
Wales kick-off their Euro 2004 Campaign in September, as they face a tricky opener against Finland. Mark Hughes remains optimistic that Wales can qualify for their first European Championship and was plaeased with last nights display.
