It's now twelve games since the last win, and bottom club Southend took home all three points with their first away win in the league since last March! No more excuses the club are in freefall and notwithstanding the FA Cup replay the crowd are losing patience.
Another game and another 90 minutes without a goal, and 5,000 Cardiff City "fans" who were there last week for the cup tie with Spurs didn't even bother to turn up. A spineless performance against the bottom club was greeted with a chorus of boos and jeers at the end by the fans who stayed to the end. Cardiff never looked like getting a goal back to reply to Lee Bradbury's wonder strike in the first half....
Something has gone very badly wrong and on current form we'll be involved in a relegation dogfight by the end of the season. Players like Michael Chopra need to look at themselves and start reproducing their early season form.
David Jones should stop whinging and get on with managing the team he has bought in, some of his signings are just not good enough. Fortress Ninian is now a place away teams come for at least one and possibly three points.
The only plus point of the afternoon was a promising debut of Whittingham who showed some good touches when he came on.
13,822 were there - nearly seven thousand down on last weeks' crowd! And the small contingent from Southend were making all the noise at the end.
Action is required and fast!
