Something is not quite right in the Indian cricket camp.  What exactly it is hard to pin down, but it is obvious that something is amiss, when the Indian captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni or his delegated spokesmen sound more and more like Baghdad Bob, every day.

First there was R. Ashwin, making excuse after excuse when India lost pretty much every game in Australia at the start of the year.  He came up with gems like "We have competed hard", "It is only a sport", "Teams are stronger at home" "We are not embarassed, but disappointed"... etc. 

Later we heard lame excuses from the chairman of Selectors and the Board President as well about why India performed so miserably in England and Australia.

Recently we heard from the Captain himself when asked to comment on the role of a captain in improving performance, Dhoni replied, "I don't want to name an international team. But if you are made captain of Alaska team it will be very difficult to win matches. A captain's job is to channelise the resources. The individual reactions are also important.

"How the bowlers performed and how the batsmen build partnerships are important. Without a good team it's difficult to achieve success," said Dhoni.

We then hear that the Indian captain thinks that India's fastest bowler, a genuine speedster, with a wonderful attitude, athleticism and desire to attack, needs to "narrow the spectrum" of his deliveries, and become more of a line and length type bowler.  As if India has tons of genuinely fast quicks and needs to find more line and length bowlers.

Next we hear from spokesperson Gautam Gambhir that one of the worst batsmen in terms of actual performance in the last six months in One Dayers for India, Rohit Sharma, is not only batting the BEST of us all in the nets, but that he is somehow being given more chances because he is being groomed for the 2015 World Cup!!!

Wow, a player has a booked place in the side for the next three years despite a batting average of 15.60 in 2012.  Something truly STINKS in Indian cricket.

Like the proverbial rotten fish the rot begins from the head.  In this case the head is the powerful head of the BCCI, N. Srinivasan, who also happens to be head of India cements and at the same time the de facto owner of the IPL's Chennai Superkings.  Not only that, but the Chennai superkings' captain and the Indian captain happen to be one and the same, M.S. Dhoni, and the National Chairman of selectors is "Brand Ambassador" of the same Chennai Superkings.  Not only that, but the selectors' modestly talented son, Anirudh Srikkanth is a highly paid player on the Chennai Superkings as it the seemingly untouchable Rohit Sharma.  It is all very cosy, and even if all the people are totally honorable, it stinks mightily of conflict of interest, nepotism and corruption.

Some may argue that it is this team that brought India to No. 1 status in Tests and also was in charge when India won the World Cup for the second time in its history.  But as they say power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely.  It is high time that for the good of Indian cricket this cabal be divested of some it's highly interwoven and conflicting powers and control over the game in India.

It seems quite AMAZING that N. Srinivasan has been able to collect so much power... Even Jaggu and Ganguly nexus did not control the game to this extent...

Pawar is the power-house whose links go all to way to soniaji.
Jaggu was a small fry comparitively.

What has this powerhouse done for Indian cricket? How influential has he been in his time as ICC president? Does anyone in world cricket outside India give a **** about this fool?
