WOLVES Fans appear far from upset that Glenn Hoddle resigned from his position as Wolves Manager with immediate effect. Here are some of your views..

Now the hangovers from a night of drowning sorrows following England's World Cup exit have subsided, we take a look at what Wolves fans have been making of the news that Glenn Hoddle has resigned from his post as Wolves Manager with immediate effect.

The former England Manager stunned Chief Executive Jez Moxey on Saturday afternoon by announcing his decision to resign as Manager of Wolverhampton Wanderers. The views below were posted on our Message Board over the past few hours:

Can't say as I am unhappy by him leaving and neither am I surprised. So many players leaving, senior pros either leaving or stalling so much as to give the impression they are going and zero budget to re-build with is a thankless task.

Hoddles an idiot, his reason was we are not matching his ambition - give me a break.

He knew the situation we were in, he over-saw the baffling tactics and the dire performances last season, he signed Anderton, Ricketts and Frankowski who all had very little impact on the team. He played Carl Cort on the left wing and failed to get the best out of Aliadiere.
 

Not sorry to see Hoddle go, but wish it had been for the right reasons.

I truly believe we are returning to the dark days we experienced under the Bhattis and just hope new owners can be found before it's too late. However, that would depend on SJH wanting to sell, which I believe he has no intention of so doing.

We arent the big name club we used to be frankly.

We need to lower our sights and expectations. Back to basics, no more money, no more fannying around. I think we need a passionate manager who is slightly unorthodox / different.

I'm a little disappointed to be honest. I hoped he would get another season to prove the doubters wrong. I'm pleased he's resigned rather than been sacked though.

Hoddle made Wolves look proper mugs when he first arrived by dictating when -or even if- he would sign a contract. Watching Moxey and the Board kissing his backside whilst praying for his signature made me want heave my guts up. I mean, this guy was obviously wrong from the start and very well known as one of football's biggest opportunists -yet Wolves couldn't lose face fast enough.

Eighteen months on, we've witnessed some of the worst football -and results- in living memory, yet instead of sacking Hoddle, Wolves made it plain they wanted to keep him, despite a poll showing 88% fans didn't back him. Today, Hoddle resigns (good riddance!) and once again exposes Wolves for the masochistic suckers they are....surely any fool could see it coming? It was only a question of when, surely?

You can bet that whatever happens, it won't be Hoddle's fault. The man is totally incapable of taking responsibility. He never won the fans over, never seemed to get on top of the job.

A poor manager. Let's hope we did the same to his career that he did to our club.

I'm not entirely surprised that Hoddle has gone, as we know he is a very ambitious man. But he's only really got himself to blame. He knew what would happen if the club didn't get promoted by the time the parachute money ran out. That has been made amply clear to all of us.

I can't say I'm disappointed after the utter mess he made of last season. I was very strongly against him coming in the first place, and then he won me round with a respectable performance during his first half season. But he managed to lose any momentum he had gained last year, and some of his tactical and personnel decisions seemed plain bizarre at times. Cort on the wing anyone? Desperately out of form players being kept in the side. Frankowski. Anderton. Offloading Cameron.

I know we kept on getting praised for trying to play passing football, and I applaud that as well, but the side lacked any kind of cutting edge, or steel. I know it's something that has blighted Wolves for years, but we would continually fail to put supposed lesser sides to the sword.

I suspect the club will be secretly quite pleased. Hoddle walking will save his salary and whilst, obviously, we will need a new manager I'm sure it will be on less money than he was being paid to do an entirely average job.
