MATT MURRAY today joined Tranmere Rovers on loan until the end of the season after getting the go-ahead to resume playing first team football by his specialist and the medical team at Molineux.

The 24 year old is a massive fans favourite at Molineux for his spectacular performances during the play-off winning campaign of the 2002/03 season in which Murray ended the season with a terrific performance at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff.

Murray made his debut in a 3-2 defeat away at Wimbledon in August 2002 before going on to make a further 38 performances which included the epic 3-2 victory over Newcastle United in the FA Cup and the Play Off Final in which Murray became the first player of the season to save a Michael Brown penalty and was awarded the man of the match award.

Murray made just one appearance in the Premiership season, but that was down to the 'keepers injury record. Murray started the first Premiership game of the season and despite Wolves losing the game 5-1, Murray was one of the best players on the pitch, making some spectacular saves.

Matt has made just two appearances since due to injury, but he has now finally been given the OK to play first team football and today joined up with Brian Little at Tranmere Rovers until the end of the season.

The 'keeper told his agents website, the Stellar group "It has taken a while getting over my injuries but I am now 100% fit and raring to go.

"I spoke to Glenn Hoddle and we both agreed it was the right time for me to step up my workload. This is a great move for me and hopefully I can repay Brian Little's faith in me with some good performances for Tranmere.

"Now I can't wait for Saturday and the chance to run out in a big game again."

We wish Matt all the best at Tranmere and look forward to seeing his back in the colours of Wolverhampton Wanderers.

MEANWHILE Wolves full back Jackie McNamara was tonight included in the reserve squad to face Sunderland at Telford tonight. McNamara has missed the majority of the season following a cruciate knee ligament injury, the worst of his established career.
