Wolves were held to a goaless draw at Stockport today , in the searing heat Wolves dominated the game and were unlucky not to end up winning it. It was back to a full strenght squad today after sending a very weakened side to Kidderminster in the week , Wolves new signing Denis Irwin made his debut in the heat of Egdeley Park.

It was a lively start by both sides , Stockport had an early corner which came to nothing a Carlton Palmer effort which was smartly saved my Micheal Oakes.

Stockport threatned again just after when Joleon Lescott cleared off the line from a Ben Burgess header.

Wolves had good chances themselves to go in front and the best of them came from Paul Butler who headed just wide from a Kevin Cooper cross.
Wanderers had County rattled well there crossbar anyway when Mo Camara hit a vicious 30 yard strike against the woodwork.

Half time came and went and almost straight after Stockport should have scored, the lively Burgess having another header saved well by half time sub keeper Matt Murray.
The 2nd half was mainly Wolves and a few more chances went begging in the form of Dean Sturridge who headed wide and Colin Cameron who seen his fantastic goalbound shot saved brilliantly by Oleg Gotselphan.

Stockport held on well and you have to credit them for all Wolves chances they defended like stars on the day, and on the evidence it won't be long until we see them in Division 1 again.
