THE Year started with a poor 1-1 draw with Kidderminster Harriers. Wolves, then of the Premiership were unable to kill off the smaller opposition. Sadly, not much has changed as Wolves end the year with a 1-1 draw with Brighton, yet another game Wolves should have won.

THE Year started with a poor 1-1 draw with Kidderminster Harriers. Wolves, then of the Premiership were unable to kill off the smaller opposition. Sadly, not much has changed as Wolves end the year with a 1-1 draw with Brighton, yet another game Wolves should have won.

Hoddle might be without defeat and might claim his side are playing well but the facts are that Wolves have only managed 4 points from his four games in charge.

Watford, Crewe, Cardiff and Brighton have all ended in 1-1 draws and are all results which will be killing punters coupons around the country. They were games which - at the start of the season - we would have expected to take 12 points from, but the true decline of this current Wolves side is now evident.

Wolves now lie 11 points from the Play-Off's having won a pathetic 7 games. 10 games have been draws whilst Wolves have lost an incredible 9 games but, as they say, the table doesn't lie.

"I could have been sitting here tonight with 12 points from the last four games and everyone would be saying that promotion is really on." Said Hoddle after the game.

"But instead we have four points and again it's because we have conceded a sloppy goal that shouldn't happen on the playground, never mind here."

Hoddle was describing Brighton's opener - a tame ball into the box which, following some sort of connection from Hart, found the back of the net.

"There were some good individual performances from the players but we can't finish it off. Although their keeper did make some great saves. I can't complain about the spirit or attitude of the players but we have to address giving away stupid goals."

"We have got to believe we can turn it around. I think once we get one win that could be the start of it."

The Christmas period should be a time for racking up the points but the good news is that the 2004 nightmare has come to an end.
