WOLVES REFUSE to go down without a fight. A 2-2 draw at Birmingham City on Sunday left Wolves in deep trouble, but the effort from the squad cannot be faulted, again.

This was an important game for both sides. Wolves were hoping to win to give themselves a chance of survival whilst Birmingham had their eyes on a place in Europe.

However in a typical derby the scoring was even forcing a result which did nothing to help either side in either quests.

Wolves got off to the perfect start. The lively and impressive Henri Camara slid the ball to Colin Cameron outside the penalty area and the Scot unleased an unstoppable 20 yard drive past the helpless Maik Taylor after just six minutes.

However concentration, or lack of it, has cost Wolves this season and it was another two pieces of poor concentration which allowed Birmingham to go in at the break with their noses in front.

Forssell was allowed space and time in the box, Paul Jones dived at the feet of the Fin but missed the ball and the on-loan Chelsea striker slotted the ball into the empty net.

Seven minutes later Morrison took advantage of some slack Wolves defending to knock the ball past Jones who had raced out of his goal to thwart the Irish Striker.

Chances went begging on either side, but with fifteen minutes to go a Kennedy free-kick was too hot to handle for Taylor and Carl Cort bagged his fourth goal of the season from close range.

The score was set up for a frantic final fifteen minutes, but neither team was able to find the back of the net - to costly effect.
